At the end of 2017, I decided to enter for the Great North Run again...not for any other reason apart from it would be my 10th time doing the run...plus I thought it would be good to do it one last time before I reach the big five '0' in November!

Then at Easter this year, we sadly lost Paul Chable to a rare kidney cancer, which was a massive shock and a huge loss to Paul's wife, Donna, his family & friends, and of course everyone here at Union Industries in Leeds, where Paul worked for over 16 years as the Technical Sales Engineer for the eastern region of the UK.

When you have worked closely with someone like Paul for so long, they are more like family than colleagues...and not a day goes past without us expecting to see 'Chabbers' walk in through the office door!

In his last couple of weeks with us, Paul was cared for by the tremendous nursing staff on Ward J96 of the Bexley Wing in St James University Hospital in Leeds....so I thought why not use my GNR entry to raise some money for this very worthwhile cause, to help them care for more people who come onto the ward suffering from this terrible disease.
