Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I must be mad but I have taken the plunge and decided to run my first marathon at Brighton.  I have chosen to run for The Alzheimer's Society who provide care and support in so many ways.  Not only to people affected with this cruel disease, but also to the family and those close to them.

Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia. The disease breaks down and destroys brain cells and this damage causes a decline in memory, behavior, and mental capabilities.

It is the biggest health and care challenge we face and it's estimated that 36 million people are now living with Alzheimer's. If the current rates continue, 66 million people worldwide will have Alzheimer's disease by 2030.

There is currently no cure but there is a lot that can be done to allow someone with the disease to live well and without fear and prejudice.  With your help and support we can enable the Alzheimer's Society  to continue the excellent work that they do and help them to one day find a cure.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
