Piano Recital · 12 February 2017

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am 18 years old and from Lisburn, Northern Ireland. I am fundraising for the Alzheimer's Society by giving piano recitals because I believe that their work is essential in order to provide support, not only to those suffering from Alzheimer's disease and dementia, but also to their family and friends. I was inspired by the Society's "Singing for the Brain" activity, which can provide a way for people with dementia, along with their carers, to express themselves and socialise with others in a fun and supportive group. Hidden in the fun are activities which build on the well-known preserved memory for song and music in the brain. Even when many memories are hard to retrieve, music is especially easy to recall. My first piano recital will be held on February 12th in the Pastoral Centre, Chapel Hill, Lisburn City Centre at 3pm. If you would like to donate, you would be making a great difference to the fight against dementia.
