Story
Back in February 2021, Archie completed a 100 mile walk challenge to raise money for YoungMinds Archie picked the charity because of the impact COVID-19 was having and continues to have on children and to help raise awareness of children’s mental health week which runs during February. He managed to raise an incredible £545.
18 months later, he's back again to raise some more money.
This time he's embarking on a 7.5 mile bike ride at Ferry Meadows on Friday 28th October 2022.
Archie is extremely grateful for any donations. Thank you.
Please note .Archie will be supported and joined on the day by Jemma (Mum) This event is weather permitting and a change of date will occur if necessary.
Mental health problems affect about 1 in 10 children and young people. They include depression, anxiety and conduct disorder, and are often a direct response to what is happening in their lives. Alarmingly 70% of children and young people who experience a mental health problem have not had appropriate interventions at a sufficiently early age and whilst most children grow up mentally healthy, surveys suggest that more children and young people have problems with their mental health today than 30 years ago. That’s probably because of changes in the way we live now and how that affects the experience of growing up.
