So hit the Give Now button, and tell me where I should feature next. And thank you for both your support of the hardhit tourism & hospitality sectors - and of the selfless work of FareShare.
And enjoy a responsible holiday in Scotland this year!
A wee word about FareShare:
FareShare operates four distribution centres in Scotland (in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee and Aberdeen), from where they redistribute food to hundreds of smaller charities and community groups. Who then use that food to feed the most vulnerable people in our society (including the very young, the elderly and the disabled).
Possibly to the most vulnerable people in your very own community too.
The benefits of the FareShare operation are two-fold:
First, FareShare combat the waste of good food in the food production system - by giving food producers/retailers a way of using their surplus/damaged food.
Secondly, Fareshare then redistributes this saved food to 11,000 smaller, local, charities and community groups (who then use this food to feed some of the most vulnerable people in our society).
So it's easier to think of FareShare as a charity wholesaler then.
Last year, and while the Covid pandemic was raging, selfless FareShare volunteers helped to distribute over 1 million meals - every week.
Helping to feed the most vulnerable people in our very own communities.
So go on. Hit that "Give Now" button, help support the work of FareShare - and help get the Scottish hospitality & tourism industries back on their feet.
