Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

The team at Noisette Bakehouse, along with the whole team at North Star Coffee Shop are excited to bring the #BakeForSyria campaign to Leeds, in collaboration with some prominent supporters of the original event, including non other than Lily Vanilli, curator, campaigner and cake maker extraordinaire.

#BakeForSyria began as a simple idea: the ultimate charity bake sale on London’s Columbia Road. Curated by Lily Vanilli with the support of Clerkenwell Boy and Serena Guen the #BakeForSyria campaign has now snowballed into an incredible force for good that has extended well beyond London with events happening across the globe.

Our fund-raising weekend will run from Saturday 18th August to Sunday 19th August at North Star Coffee Shop, HQ of the mighty North Star Coffee Roasters and will kick off with a bake sale featuring bakes from the recently released #BakeForSyria cookbook. There will be sweet and savoury bakes made by our very own Noisette Bakehouse who also contributed to the book. The team will be recreating the recipes donated to the book by Nigel Slater, Jamie Oliver, Helen Goh and Yotam Ottolenghi to name a few.

The bake sale will run from 12pm-4pm on Saturday 18th August and 100% of profits from the bake sale will be donated to Unicef's appeal for the children of Syria.

In addition there will be a take over of the brunch menu with collaborations from Noisette Bakehouse and prominent supporters of the #BakeForSyria campaign with dishes from Lily Vanilli, Izy Hossack, Felicity Spector and Dana Elemara on a menu that take inspiration from traditional Syrian and Middle Eastern recipes.

This is an opportunity to enjoy an exciting fusion between our popular brunch menu and the flavours and ingredients of the Middle East...think wholesome, flavourful and comforting food to be shared and celebrated. A proportion of profits from the sale of brunch dishes will also be donated.

We strongly advise you tell all your friends and bring the whole family to support, and in return you'll be making a significant contribution to raising awareness and funds for the children and families who's everyday life has been affected by the crisis in Syria.

The full brunch menu will run from 10am-3pm on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th August.
