Walking The Ribble Way · 22 June 2021

If you have a life-limiting illness, we can care for you and your family. Our care is free and can be provided in your home, at our Living Well community hubs or our In-Patient Unit.

Story

As every year since 1997 I will be walking with my sister Jill McArthur. Last year we had to cancel this walk, but are now raring to go! Over the years we have walked the West Highland Way, The Coast to Coast, Pembrokeshire Coast Path, Hadrian's Wall, South Downs Way, Pennine Way South, Dales Way and many more paths crisscrossing England, Wales & Ireland.

This year I will again be walking for Isabel Hospice and hope you will sponsor me in this challenge, to raise much needed funds for our amazing Hospice, so that we can give that vital care to patients and their families.

The Ribble Way is a 73 mile long distance footpath following the River Ribble along the beautiful Ribble Valley, traversing the counties of Lancashire and North Yorkshire.

The Ribble Way starts at the mouth of the river near Longton, to the west of Preston and follows a gentle course through Ribchester and Clitheroe before reaching Gisburn. The footpath then crosses from Lancashire into North Yorkshire and continues to its source at Gavel Gap near Ribblehead.

Isabel Hospice provides palliative support to the 340,000 people who live in eastern Hertfordshire.Hospice care is about helping people to live well for as long as possible and have a good death in the place of their choice when the time comes. Without your help, we could not make this possible for our patients and their families. Each year we care for around 1,855 people but we know there are even more people that need our help.
