Story
Hi! My name's Ben Atkin, I'm 16 years old and a volunteer at the animal charity Blue Cross which helps sick, injured and homeless pets. Since I was 14 I have set myself annual fundraising challenges to raise money for these animals.
In 2017 my challenge was distance, to walk 212 miles coast-to-coast across Scotland along the 'Southern Upland Way' with my father. Last year in 2018, the challenge was height, where we summited the African mountain Mount Elgon in eastern Uganda, which stands at over 14,000ft high.
This summer the challenge is speed. I aim to run over 30km a day along Hadrian's Wall. This route is 135km, and in just 4 days I aim to run from Wallsend on the east coast of England to Bowness-on-Solway on the west coast.
This one is going to be really tough. Thank you for donating, and for your support in rebuilding the lives of the animals in our care.
