Story

Hi

I am raising money for Against Breast Cancer in memory of my amazing, inspirational and loving mum - Susan Jones

Originally being diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2003 aged just 42 years old, mum received all the relevant treatment and given the all clear.

Unfortunately in 2010, mum developed a severe cough along with other symptoms and was diagnosed with Secondary Breast Cancer, this had developed in her lungs, liver and spine. Later this also progressed to her breast again and lymph nodes.

Over the course of 5 years, mum received various forms of chemotherapy and medication along with other procedures , including surgery after being nearly paralysed from the neck down from finding an abscess on her spinal cord during October 2015.

In April 2016, mum started a more aggressive form of chemotherapy due to the ever changing cancer in her body. Along with this, she developed issues with her breathing and liver functions which unfortunately meant she was not as mobile from summer 2016.

However through all of this, mums strength, courage and spirit always shone through until she sadly passed away in November 2016.

After dealing with this, October 2018 my inspirational dad was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer, Stage 4. It was was aggressive and 9 weeks later he sadly passed away.

This is why I will be Running the London Marathon 2021 looking to raise lots of money to smash Cancer

This amazing peoples weren’t just my mum and dad, but my best friends and inspiration, who we miss everyday. All these events will be for my mum and dad and they will keep me going through all of them.

Any donations to Against Breast Cancer would be greatly received.

Thank you for reading
