Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

60 years of saving lives, 60 years of breakthroughs and we are not stopping now.

Together with the support of our volunteers, groups, clubs and corporate partners, we have been part of pioneering breakthroughs like heart transplants and pacemakers, stents and clot busting drugs - and our goals for the decades ahead are even more ambitious. Cures for inherited heart diseases, radically improved treatments for stroke, ways to stop vascular dementia in its tracks, and of course, recovering from the brutal blow that was the Covid-19 pandemic.

Despite breakthroughs though, we still have so much to research and learn. For example -  how specific genes trigger sudden cardiac death in the young, taking 12 people’s lives before their 35th birthday every single week and as the burden of dementia grows, we are only beginning to understand the critical role blood vessel damage plays in the progression of this devastating disease. Every 3 minutes in the UK, a family loses a loved one to heart and circulatory diseases often with no warning.

The work of the BHF has quite simply never been more needed and this is why we value your support.

We are calling upon the West Midlands community to help us reach our goal of £60,000 one step at a time.

Whether you raise £60, £600 or £6000 you will be helping us #beatheartbreakforever.

Thank you from Karen, Ashleigh and Gavin (BHF West Midlands)
