Story

On 3rd May 2026, I’ll be running the Southampton Marathon — my first ever — to raise money for the Cancer Immunology Fund at the University of Southampton.

Your donation goes directly to the research:

£25 helps pay for essential lab equipment

£50 supports DNA testing in cancer tumours

£100 helps fund a full day of research

£250 helps ensure patients receive the right treatment

£1,000 contributes towards the cost of a clinical trial

The University of Southampton is home to the Centre for Cancer Immunology, the UK’s first centre dedicated to this field. Its researchers are developing new ways to use the immune system to recognise and attack cancer, including improved immunotherapies, engineered antibodies and vaccines, work that helps move treatments from the lab into clinical trials.

This marathon is a big personal challenge for me too. I used to struggle with running and couldn’t manage more than half a kilometre without getting breathless. Training for this has shown me how far I can push myself, and running for a cause I believe in makes it mean even more.

Every penny raised goes straight to the Cancer Immunology Fund.

Thank you so much for any support or shares — it really does mean a lot.
