Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Crips and I are running the Lakeland 50 in July this year in memory of our beautiful friend Marian. Marian and I met when we both worked for Buccleuch Countryside Service at Drumlanrig Castle in 1990 and became firm friends, a friendship which lasted over 30 years.

Marian lived and worked in The Lake  District as general manager for the National Trust in the North West Lakes. She loved the fells and had climbed all 214 Wainwrights.

A lifelong vegan she was the most compassionate, kind person I have known.

Sadly, Marian was diagnosed with terminal cancer early in 2020 and spent her last few weeks in the amazing Eden Valley Hospice in Carlisle. They were brilliant and I know she was amazed at the care and compassion shown to her when she was there.

It seems fitting that we run the Lakeland 50 in her memory and try to raise a little for Eden Valley along the way.  I know any donation, however small, will be appreciated and will help to care for others  in a similar situation.

Thank you xxxx
