Story

On 22nd April 2013, our world shattered into a million pieces... my husband, Graeme, very suddenly and out of the blue, had a massive, almost fatal stroke. He was given 48 hours  to live... The only thing that the consultant could advise was to gather friends and family to say goodbye to him. I had to tell our children aged 4 and 7 at the time that their daddy was turning into an angel.... it was the worst conversation I’ve ever had to have.

Against all odds he survived but is now left severely disabled. He is wheelchair bound, has speech difficulties, very limited vision and struggles to even eat some days... he has been stripped of all independence at a young age. Myself and the boys and a couple of amazing carers, Gemma and Lesley care for him around the clock.

April just gone Graeme’s Mum also collapsed with a stroke but sadly did not survive.

A stroke can happen to anyone at any time. It is very sudden and is devastating to live with.

On 22nd April 2018, exactly 5 years to the day, I am running the London Marathon. Please help by sharing this page to raise awareness and donate anything you can.
