Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have a faulty gene, MSH2 Muir Torre (Lynch) Syndrome. I have needed to use most of Sheffield's NHS hospitals and services over the last couple of years and just as I am getting back on my feet, physically and mentally, along comes the pandemic! My plans for voluntary work and fundraising have been put on hold, again. I don't know if the Walk for Wards event is going ahead this year, nobody does obviously! I can't even meet up with 'walking' friends to keep building up my fitness for a longer 'sponsored walk'.
I know I am lucky to be socially distancing with my lovely 'non-walking' family! Don't get me wrong: they are perfectly capable of walking, they just don't want to! Long gone are the days when I could disguise a walk as 'an adventure' and now I can't even suggest a walk (run, or cycle) to the pub .... in .... Hathersage.
So, please will you donate whatever you can during these difficult times, when the Charities that support the NHS really need it? Then as soon as Coronavirus is 'done' I'll get together with a few supporters/walkers and complete my 'sponsored walk'. In the meantime I'll keep annoying my family, pestering them to 'exercise' with me! I don't want to weight lift, Olympic style or otherwise, or be on the receiving end of anything that hurts, ball shaped or pad shaped!
So, some time soon we're all going to walk, run then cycle as far and as fast as we can ..... and back in an hour! Then repeat and repeat and repeat .....
