Story
This November, I will be running 100km (62 miles) in memory of my Dad and to raise money for the British Heart Foundation, a Charity that is very close to my heart.
Sadly, nothing could ever have prepared my family and me for such a sudden, devastating loss on Wednesday 12th November 2014. There are no words to explain the inability to say goodbye to a loved one nor the lasting effect that this has. I know that there are so many families that have gone through or are going through the same heartache, loss and grief. Seven million people in the UK live with heart and circulatory diseases and these diseases are responsible for more than a quarter of all deaths. Due to Covid-19, the funding for new research has been halved.
Our remarkable NHS Staff continue to work tirelessly and at this time, the British Heart Foundation need our help more than ever. It is my aim to raise awareness of cardiac disease and to contribute towards their research. Your support and donations are so greatly appreciated.
There isn't a day that goes by when I don't think about what an incredibly special person my Dad was. He truly inspired me with his zest for life and adventure, his kind and generous soul and the love and care that he showed to all. He did so much for local charities and fully supported and appreciated the life - changing work that the British Heart Foundation do.
With any challenge, goal or ambition, my Dad would always say, “GO FOR IT!” so, I am! Heels off, trainers on and with the vision of the British Heart Foundation in mind, “LET'S BEAT HEARTBREAK FOREVER!”
Thank you all so much for your kindness, generosity and support. 💖
