Hi Everyone , my name is Celine Roberson and I am a finalist in Miss Scotland 2015. Being a finalist has offered me a great opportunity and platform to raise awareness for a charity that I feel so passionate about .I have decided to fundraise for Diabetes Uk as this condition has sadly effected many members of my family and close friends.

Diabeties Uk is the leading charity that provide help and peer support for every person thats is affected or at risk of the condition in the United Kingdom. Approximately 4 million people all around the UK are living with diabeties and a staggering 7 million individuals are at high risk of Type 2 or have Type 2 and are not aware of it. These figures are truly alarming and upsetting. However, with the help and assistance from the thousands of healthcare professionals and volunteers like myself, I believe we can truly make a difference. 

I recently ran a 10k with my sister in the middle of July to raise awareness for the charity. So many of the fellow runners and walkers noticed our Diabetes Uk t-shirts and were so supportive. One gentleman in particular had a chat to me about how he has been raising awareness and money for the charity ever since his wife was diagnosed with Type 1 more than 2 years ago. His story was truly inspirational and has pushed me not only to run another 10k but to run another 40k before the Miss Scotland final next month! Including my previous run this adds up to 50k. It will be challenging but I know that with all the support I have received for my fundraising and my involvement in the Miss Scotland competition that I can't do it 💙.
