At 55 I'm enjoying my running as much as ever. So whilst I am fit enough I'll continue with my annual London Marathon 26 mile challenge. It's a good fundraiser for North West Cancer Research and your generous contributions have brought about so much fantastic research into the causes of cancer and the best ways of dealing with it. My training is well under way, so together we can make another vital contribution to help fund the current cancer research that is going on in Liverpool, Lancaster and Bangor Universities.

I am delighted to have seen the improvements in Proton beam technology, which kills cancerous cells whilst leaving surrounding body tissue largely undamaged. This make the prospects of survival from cancer much better and there is so much more to be done. Please help me again this year.
