Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am fundraising for St Davids’ hospice Llandudno by tackling my fear of heights and participating in a tandem skydive on the 24th July 2021.

St Davids’ hospice, a registered charity, provide care as well as emotional or spiritual support free of charge, therefore depend solely on your kind donations in order to be able to continue to provide quality and meaningful end of life care to adults and support for families in Conwy, Gwynedd and Anglesey.

On a personal note, I chose this challenge as I wanted to conquer my fear of heights. During 2019 I underwent 3 lots of surgery which made me reflect on how precious and short life is, therefore challenged myself to conquer 3 fears, swimming in the sea, riding a motorbike and getting hands on with a cat!

I embraced the challenges head on, on the 4th January I started by ‘my take of’ swimming in the sea, which I now thoroughly enjoy and can’t ever imagine not doing. August, I passed my CBT test on a motorbike and I am planning to get hands on with a domestic cat in the next month or so. I believe to many this would be a daily occurrence for the average person however, I feel that this will be the greatest one to conquer as I have never managed to put my hands on the baggy, bony, warm body of a cat.

July this year I again had a health scare, on the return journey from my
check-up I decided that whatever the outcome of my results, if I came through the other end, I would jump out of a plane in order to raise donations for a local charity, again conquering a fear with the mind-set that it had to be simpler to overcome than a serious diagnosis. So here I am, healthy and asking for any donations. Each and every one of us have been affected by a loved one, friend or neighbour passing away so please help me raise donations for this wonderful local charity…. after all it’s not as if you need to jump out a plane for it .

UPDATE!!!!!!!

The pussycat challenge was completed 🙌 ,as evidenced in my pictures! In true OT style graded exposure was used over a period of 4/5 weeks, building up from a knuckle behind the ears to fully stroking the feline creature 😬😬😬😬. To be honest it was not that bad once I had managed it....Let's hope I repeat that sentence following my skydive!! So please please please dig deep and donate to this wonderful local charity.
