Over 150,000 of us in the UK have MS. It’s unpredictable and different for everyone. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We’re the MS Society. We understand what life’s like with MS. We're here for you through the highs, lows and everything in between. Together, we are strong enough to stop MS.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year in aid of the MS Society in memory of my Mum, Carol, I am fundraising and giving up what is possibly the most difficult thing for me to live without - CHOCOLATE!! (God, give me strength!) Those who are closest to me know how much of a deal it is for me to do this, and I'm sure there will be sweepstakes involved regarding when I might fall off the wagon.

However, those closest to me also know how important this charity is to me, and how their research and success stories helped my Mum, who suffered terribly from the condition. My Mum was extremely courageous, and when the MS punched her with another heavy blow she'd take a day or two to grieve, then roll her sleeves up and get on with it! I wish I could be as brave as her. I mean, look at me - depression and anxiety rear their ugly heads and I'm down and out for the count. These were illnesses my Mum also dealt with as part and parcel of MS.

Throughout the year - and perhaps longer, making it an on-going fundraising venture - I will be creating an Etsy page which will sell cross stitch pieces I will produce, with anything from fairies to other mythical or magical creatures, Disney characters and scenes to landscapes, animals, etc etc. All the money (excluding the minute Etsy fees) will be donated to the MS Society. Cross Stitch was something that my Mum and I loved to do whilst relaxing, chatting, listening to music. It was our favourite hobby that we did together from when she taught me at the age of 7. Now, I want to carry it on and hopefully raise money and awareness for this amazing charity, in memory of an amazing woman.

But, back to the fundraising at hand - I will give up chocolate from the beginning till the end of March. All donations are welcome, no matter how big or small, and even if you don't wish to donate then at least some awareness has been passed on.

Thank you!
