I have long wanted to join the annual climb of Ben Nevis, in memory of Dudley climber and peace campaigner, Bert Bissell, organised by colleagues on Dudley Council. This year, despite COVID-19, the memorial climb will take place on Friday 14th August and I will finally be joining colleagues and friends climbing over 1,300 metres to the summit of Ben Nevis.

I have decided to raise money on this effort for the Edward's Trust. A regional charity that supports children and families in the worst possible of times - when they are facing loss and bereavement. Their support has been so important to family friends. I hope to raise funds so they can support others going through similar circumstances.
