Story
This idea is the brainwave our Station Officer, Terry. He commands the team of Beer Coastguard, a team of 15 members. His idea is to help make our beaches cleaner whilst supporting a charity that is close to our hearts.
We’ve all seen the news, the plastic on the beaches are damaging our oceans. Okay, our efforts are just a drop in the ocean - but if we can help, even in a small way that makes our team happy.
The plan is to travel by boat to Culverhole Point, an unaccessible beach, approximately 2.5km east of Seaton. There we will collect all the rubbish and boat it back to Seaton where it will be recycled.
Now your probably wondering where Brain Tumour Research fits in. One of our team members is the father of a young lady diagnosed with a brain tumour 2.5 years ago. As a team we have followed the families journey, seen all the emotional strain that the family have undergone and be totally inspired by their very brave daughter.
This young lady is also known as CharlottesArmy and she has challenged herself, with her army, to raise a weeks worth of research into brain tumours. We are proud to be part of her army. If you like what we are doing and have some pennies spare please help us support the environment and this worthy charity.
