On 14th October 2014 Willow was born at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd due to ruptured membranes at 33 weeks, she required CPAP for about 24 hours, and got diagnosed with a heart murmur, she stayed at SCBU for 3 weeks in total to help feed and grow, now is a happy healthy 3 year old with no health problems at all!
Fast forward 3 years her brother on the other hand...
Oscar was born at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd (YGC) on Saturday 17th March 2018, at 27 weeks gestation, following an emergency C-Section after a Cord Prolapse, and following his very quick and untimely entrance into this world has been in the High Dependancy Unit for the past 5 weeks in SCBU, where he is currently staying.
During his short life so far Oscar has faced many hurdles, having being diagnosed with Ecoli Meningitis at 5 days old, 2 bleeds within the ventricles of the brain, Chronic Ling Disease and Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA).
The care and support provided not only to willow and Oscar, but to the family as a whole has been amazing from the Doctors, Nurses and Health Care Support Workers, with them going far out of their way to help in whatever way they can.
Our aim is to raise as much money as we can for the charity ‘Cuddles’ to say ‘Thank You’ for the amazing work that they have provided for Willow and Oscar, and to provide medical equipment and accessories for the SCBU ward at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd to continue to provide for babies who require the care and help required in their early days of life.
