Preston to Lanes Ends Row · 31 May 2019

St Catherine’s cares for patients and families who are affected by life-shortening conditions, at the hospice and in people’s own homes across Chorley, Preston and South Ribble. Our specialist care helps people enjoy the best possible quality of life to the end of life.

Story

In the Summer of 2017 my mother in law spent her last few
weeks at St Catherine’s Hospice where they gave her the care and attention she needed before she sadly passed away.

I’m an indoor rower and race at 500m on a Concept2 rowing machine. A couple year ago a did a half marathon row for Cancer
research and wasn’t a great fan of doing the longer row but did it any way as it raised over £1,000. I decided this year to row from Preston to Lands Ends for St Catherine's to hopefully raise £2,000. This would have been approximately 20Km per day every day throughout May as the plan was to complete it during the month of May. However, after a few days rowing I decided to changed the target to 1,000Km instead to make it much more challenging as I would now need to row approximately 33Km per day everyday. I'm planning on doing this while working full time and also supporting my family etc.
