We challenge attitudes on mental health to help anyone affected by mental illness

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

As usual, Cripps has a full calendar year packed with charitable events. Our chosen charity of the year for 2018 is Rethink Mental Illness. During the summer months Cripps has organised several events enabling people to 'face their fears'. I'm sure we learned growing up that fear is an important emotion and it's often what keeps us alive and stops us from doing dangerous activities. With that in mind, perhaps we should have done an event addressing our fears of playing with puppies or something similar. Unfortunately, no event of that nature was arranged, so Natasha Holme, Victoria Rowing, Marisa Lambkin and Kathryn Gurr have instead signed up to do a sponsored skydive on Sunday 22 July 2018.

All the money we raise for this event will be going directly to Rethink Mental Illness. Rethink help people throughout the country get through times of crisis, to live independently and realise they are not alone. They operate over 200 mental health services and 150 support groups, providing psychological therapies, training, peer support groups, nursing and residential care, housing services and crisis, and recovery homes.

Mental health issues can, and often do, affect everyone; regardless of where they are from or what they do. Today you could make a difference by helping a worthwhile charity fund its pursuit for better mental health awareness and support (and also make our skydive worth the anxiety and fear it will cause).

Any donation will be greatly received.

Thanks

Cripps
