I just signed up to participate in the Marathon Des Sables, to raise funds and for Cancer Research.

We are all affected in one way or another by Cancer either we have suffered or know somebody who has suffered with Cancer, whether it be friends or family. I lost a parent to Cancer and feel it's time to give back and support the charity that has helped my family and so many others and who continue to make a difference.

Running in the Marathon Des Sables is an extreme challenge and to cross the finish line will take an immense amount of focus and effort.

Training for a marathon of this caliber takes 100% commitment to complete the 156+ miles I will have to run over 6 days for the charity in a heat of +50°C.

Just to add this is self-supported and I will be carrying my own provisions which will weigh in excess of 30 pounds plus water.
