Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
When my niece was born, she was critically ill and needed
specialist medical support. She was moved to St Michaels hospital to
receive the latest in medical care. My brother and his partner was
fully supported by Cots for Tots during this time, the Cots for Tots house was a god send, and enabled them to stay close to the hospital. The hospital provided world class treatment to my niece, and thankfully due to their work, she now leads a normal life.
This is a significant challenge for me, I'm fairly new to road cycling and
have never cycled this distance in this time frame. I am doing this challenge to give me a purpose to train towards whilst giving something back to the charity that had such an impact on my brothers families life.
Below is some words from their website
The Cots for Tots Appeal raises funds to help save babies lives – from
those born as early as 23 weeks to babies requiring life-saving treatment and care when they are born. Our Cots for Tots Intensive Care Suite has four cots and life-saving equipment and helps to treat the 750 babies every year from all over Bristol, the South West and South Wales who need the life-saving care the Unit at St Michael’s Hospital provides.
The Cots for Tots Appeal created and runs Cots for Tots House, the 12 bed purpose-designed family accommodation, minutes from the Special Care Baby Unit, which is open 365 days per day to provide free accommodation to the families of premature and critically ill babies.
