Walking The Ridgeway · 9 April 2022

Motor Neurone Disease moves fast. It takes away time, it takes away independence and it has no cure. Every day we support people affected by MND. We fund ground-breaking research. We campaign for better care. We’re here for everyone who needs us. Because with MND, every day matters.

Story

The Ridgeway is often described as 'the oldest road in Britain' and stretches for 87 miles. I will be starting in Avebury, Wiltshire and finishing at Ivinghoe Beacon, Buckinghamshire seven days later.

When I completed the Hadrian's Wall walk in 2019, I got the bug for hiking and have been itching to tick this trail off my list. As with the previous walk, I will be carrying all my equipment and supplies (currently weighing over 35kg!) and camping out most nights.

I have chosen to raise money for MNDA to support vital research into treatment and ultimately a cure. The charity also support people living with MND and their families and this is a cause so important to people in my life who mean a lot to me.

I will be writing a blog and posting on my Facebook page (www.facebook.com/redkitebushcraftbucks) each day so feel free to join me on my journey and please, if you can, donate a few pennies to this most-deserving of charities.

See you on the other side!

Dave
