Stairs Climb- Mount Everest · 9 May 2020

NHS Charities Together and its members across the UK are hugely grateful for the support received from so many since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Story

My name is David Rose and I live in Penwortham ( Preston)

In light of recent events and with the lock down firmly in place, I  wanted to play my part in supporting the NHS for the fantastic work they do and specially through this Covid- 19 crisis. I've taken inspiration from Matthew Paul Disney Disney RM who recently completed an amazing challenge of climbing the height of the highest mountain in the solar system.

People who know me will understand I cannot sit still for more than 5 minutes so this challenge will help me keep sane during the lockdown.

I plan to scale the height of Mount Everest the highest mountain on the planet standing at 8848 metres (29,029 feet) using my stairs in keeping with government guidelines of completing no more than 1 hour exercise out side the home. I will complete 55070 steps of my staircase on Saturday the 9th May starting around 6 am and aim to complete within 12 hours.

My son Edward who is 4 is really keen to help too so he will be covering a small section of the steps to help his Dad when I need a rest. All money raised will go to the NHS to support the funding they desperately require for PPE etc.

I will aim to do a live feed via facebook so people can view progress.

Many people have been affected by this terrible virus and the money raised will go towards supporting the NHS in all that they do.

Please support where you can by sponsoring.

Thanks everyone and stay safe!
