I am doing Dry January to challenge myself whilst raising money for the mental health charity Mind UK. They do great work to help and support those with mental health problems. As someone who suffers with Depression and Anxiety, I understand the struggles that people face on a daily basis especially through these unprecedented times surrounding Covid-19. I have used Alcohol as a crutch in the past to deal with the suffering caused by my mental health and I understand some of you may also have done the same. 

In August of last year, I lost a very close friend to alcoholism and I'm doing this fundraiser in his memory and to let people who are struggling know that there is hope and support out there from charities such as MIND. I hope that you take some comfort in this and REMEMBER, IT'S OKAY TO NOT BE OKAY AND IF YOU ARE STRUGGLING, TRY TO  SPEAK TO A FAMILY MEMBER, CLOSE FRIEND OR REACH OUT TO A CHARITY LIKE MIND OR MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES IN YOUR AREA.
