David was sadly diagnosed with dementia at the beginning of 2020. He was able to spend most of last year at home with the support of family and friends and was able to carry on bowling until the March lock down but continued to enjoy his daily walks thereafter. During September David needed more support and the difficult decision was made for him to move into Brough Manor Care Home. He was supported and cared for there until he peacefully passed away on the 22nd February 2021.

We have chosen to collect for the Guide Dogs in Davids memory. This is a charity that was very close to Davids heart due to his love of dogs and the amazing work the dogs do for the people they support. David knew how much love and happiness a dog could bring and they held a very special place in his life. David has sponsored a Guide Dog puppy for many years and the photo postcard pupdates would sit in pride of place on his mantelpiece.
