Base camp everest · 12 October 2018

We are Penumbra Mental Health, a pioneering charity providing dedicated services for people with mild to serious and enduring mental ill health. We support people on their journey to better mental health, by working with each person to find their own way forward.

Story

This is the year of young people 2018.

It is my aim to promote a culture of openess. Mental health is increasing. 51% of young people say they commonly feel anxious, 53% speak of constant stress and 1 in 5 feel hopeless. The youngest person to have self harmed is seven years old. We can no longer ignore this. I myself struggle on a daily basis with anxiety and depression. My challenge is Everest, Base camp reaching altitudes of 5,364m. This is a challenge, reaching base camp means 50% less oxygen than at sea level. It is not my only challenge. Everyday is a challenge..

...to catch my breath. If you support me in my trek. As little as £17 could provide a teenager with 1-1 counselling from a member of the self harming team. A  sponsor of  £20 will pay for a home visit. Penumbra relies on donations.  Can you please help to save a life? This may not be a cuddly subject but its an important one to me.
