We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.

Story

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.

12 intrepid, brave, heroic, and possibly fairly naïve and foolhardy people from Enable have decided to put themselves through a full day of challenges to raise awareness for and contribute to the battle against Alzheimers disease.

We will be cycling 17km along the shore of Llyn Padam (Llanberis Lake) before swapping bikes for walking boots as we head up Snowdon via the Ranger then Llanberis path to the summit, 1065m up before heading back down completing a total of 14.5km!

If that wasn't enough, we'll then be changing into our wetsuits to kayak 4km across Llyn Padam, before taking an obligatory team selfie at the finish line!

Whilst some of us own bikes, some of haven't ridden since we took the stabilisers off, some of us like mountain walks but have never sat in a kayak and, well, some of us would rather take the train up to the summit!

We're committed to raising this amount of money to go to The Alzheimers Society because pretty much all of us have either personally or know someone else who has been affected by this horrible disease and every single penny that we raise we know will go towards an excellent cause - which will hopefully keep us going as we take on this frankly rather challenging event!

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
