Wild Wye Swim · 24 September 2017 ·

SARA is the largest multi-disciplinary search and rescue organisation in the UK. It operates inshore lifeboats on the tidal Severn, Wye and Usk, and provides inland water and land search & rescue throughout the Severn Area, 24x7x365 with over 150 qualified all-volunteer crew from 6 Stations.

Story

We took part in the first Wild Wye Swim on 24 September and now we're giving a little back to SARA — the Severn Area Rescue Association — which organised the event.

This wasn't a race, there were no timing chips or prizes involved. It was a personal challenge for everyone taking part — and for us it was very much about the taking part!

We're delighted to report that we both made it safely and very happily to the end.

All donations big or small most gratefully received — SARA is an entirely volunteer-led and run organisation, and because it gets no central or local government support relies entirely on fundraising and other donations.

If you've not done it before, donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving  — they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
