Hastings half marathon · 20 March 2022

Every day 250 people in the UK start losing their sight. With your help, we can be there when people need us most, support independent living, create an inclusive society and prevent avoidable sight loss. Every pound you raise will help create a future where sight loss is no longer a barrier.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This page has been set up for my grandad, last year he suddenly lost his sight due to chicken pox of all things, he now has a condition called viral retinitis leaving him with over 90% of his vision lost.

It has been a struggle for him as he is an active man, always on the move, even now when I ring the bell on my grandparents house I see him racing down the hallway to answer. He has found ways to navigate himself around his bungalow and always helps my lovely Nan out where possible. If I am honest he is an incredible human and the best man I know so it would be nice to give something back and make him proud.

The Charity RNIB who help partially sighted and blind people have helped him ease into a new phase of his life. They helped him regain some independence, some lasting advice to the family surrounding him and even some free audiobooks.

So, I shall be running the Hastings half marathon in March and I would like to raise as much money as possible!
