Footprints for Others -Berwickshire and Northumberland Coastal Paths · 13 August 2017

EVERY 90 SECONDS someone in the UK is admitted to hospital with an acquired brain injury (ABI). There are many possible causes, such as a fall, a road traffic accident, an assault, a tumour or a stroke. A brain injury can happen to anyone, at any time. When it does, we're here to help

Story

In 2016, 9 year Old Ellie and her dad Derek Allan did a huge walk, 65 miles over three days. They did this in aid of Headway and raised a lot of money and awareness...

In 2017 they walked almost 100 miles from Cocksburnpath and ended at Cresswell (with an icecream). Again for Headway.

As you can see Ellie and her dad Derek Allan have been walking buddies for lots of years now and now at only aged 11 Ellie has many miles under her belt.

Each year they venture further, their aim is to eventually walk coast
to coast, they hoped it would be this year...but it takes time and
money...
So this year's challenge instead is a mammoth coastal walk
of OVER 100 miles from Thorntonloch in Scotland to Creswell in
Northumberland.

This is taking place in the summer holidays. 13th August - 19th August

They will be raising money for Headway - the brain injury association

13th August - Thorntonloch - Dowlaw
14th August - Dowlaw - Eyemouth
15th August - Eyemouth - Berwick
16th August - Berwick - Belford
17th August - Belford - Craster
18th August - Craster - Alnmouth
19th August - Alnmouth - Creswell

To add a little difference this time Derek (who is an acoustic artist) will be performing two gigs along the way.

On the evening of 18th August when the pair arrive in Alnmouth Derek
will be singing at an open mic night which has been organised from 8pm
at The Cricket club. Anybody can come along to support or even play a
few songs. The evening is raising money for Headway and for Alnwick
Oncology.

On 19th August half way to Creswell between 3 & 4pm he is stopping off at Druridge Bay Country Park to perform a set at
Coquetfest. Ellie will be there too with a bucket for donations. :-)

They will share their incredible times together on social media with
beautiful pictures and heart felt sentiments. Feel free to join in on
