As some of you know, Finlay was taken to Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice after he passed away in Hospital at 3 weeks 3 days old. The staff there welcomed us so warmly and allowed us time with Finlay, without the Doctors and Nurses surrounding him, to allow us time to be with him as a family Read to him, give him a cuddle and have us the time to say goodbye. This time although devastating, was our precious time with our little boy 💙

They continue to support our family and give us support, bereavement care and love 💖

Due to the current situation Chestnut Tree House are struggling!!
They sent an email yesterday which read-

We have had to close Chestnut Tree House for respite breaks and day care but we are still providing care for exceptional circumstances, end-of-life care and bereavement support. And our Community Team are still visiting children and families who depend on us.

At the same time, our shops have been forced to close and the vital funding they provide has disappeared. Fundraising events large and small have been cancelled. And this is causing us a huge problem.

The maths is simple. It costs £400,000 a month to run Chestnut Tree House, most of which comes from fundraising. And right now we are losing 70% of our fundraising income every month - it is only a matter of time before we run out of money.

Self-isolating is difficult for many people, but it will be particularly hard for those families who have recently lost a child. These families need your support more than ever!!

I want to help them to remain so that they can continue to keep supporting families in the future.

On Sunday 10th May I would love for you all to walk ‘with us’ wherever you are in the world, in whatever direction & for as long as you choose.

All I ask is that whilst you are doing it, you take a moment to think about all the little angels out there that you may or may not know & their parents & families, who may just need an extra virtual hug right now.

Then take a selfie, post it in the event & let me know where you went walking.
