Hi everyone....
Most people reading this will know what my last year entailed. But for those that don't:-
I was diagnosed with Stage 3 inflammatory breast cancer with localized spread (lymph nodes) February 2017 aged 34. I was immediately started on 6 rounds of chemotherapy followed by surgery and 15 sessions of radiotherapy. Despite being given the all clear I remain on 3 weekly injections and daily tablets and am still battling the long standing side effects of all the treatment especially fatigue and joint pain.
It has been an extremely hard year both physically and emotionally for myself but also my 2 young daughters and the rest of my family and friends but with amazing support we've come through it. Life will never be the same and everyday brings a new challenge but we face it head on and together.
Maggies located over the road from the Christie hospital is a centre that offers many services aswel as support for cancer patents and/or there families, it's a friendly safe haven where you can just turn up make yourself a drink and sit quietly or talk with others, join in groups or seek advice, the staff are wonderful and always there to help.
Maggies costs a lot to run (around £2000 a day) and relies on fundraising and donations, Please help me raise money for this wonderful place by sponsersing me and my daughters as Maggies models at the Maggies on the runway fashion show and afternoon tea under the wings of Concorde on Saturday, June 16th. I would like to raise £800 for this worthy cause but would be happy with any amount raised.
* Since I first wrote this and joined the models. I have been diagnosed with Stage 4 secondary breast cancer, a shock and a proper life changer as now no cure... but I will keep fighting and I'm determined I will still complete this fundraiser.
