At the age if 29, I decided I would go on the contraceptive pill.Just about to go to university,I thought,I would be sensible in taking responsibility for my contraception.I went on the pill in the February, then two weeks after finishing my national diploma, I had a major stroke. You guessed it the cause of my stroke was the contraceptive pill.
I lost the ability to walk and talk.I sufferd from disphaiga,so I was unable to swallow and I was in complete shock. As I thought only old people had strokes.
It's been a tough few years,my personality has changed,I'm a different version of myself now. I've learnt and am accepting that now.
No one can ever prepare you for what lies ahead.I've had, two speak n lanuages therapist, 6 Pyschologists,4 councillors, attended 20 week steps program to help with emotional intensity disorder,5 hypnotherists ,accupunture, homeopathy,Reiki and lots more help over the years to help me regain control of my life and gain back my independence.Im truly thankful for all the kindness and support I've received over the years x
It's been tough,I'm not going to lie, days blur into one,but it's trying to remember how far I've come.
That there is life after stroke ❤❤❤
I fell blessed to have been given a second chance at life,I'm trying not to waste it.
I now feel ready to help other people who have been threw what I have been through,by raising awareness and much needed funding for the stroke Association ❤❤❤
