Those who know me, know I love running.  I also like to seek out new challenges - usually involving hills and ultramarathon distances.  This challenge was just asking to be met.

Running 10 marathons in a year is fair going, doing them in 10 consecutive days should be very interesting!  Also, not just any old marathon!  The Windermere Marathon is widely recognized as one of the toughest road marathons in the UK.  262 miles of smiles, sweat and tears - hopefully no blood, 'cos that would be messy.  The tears could be of joy, of emotion, or just the pain from Davey Green's singing!  A journey into the unknown for me, but one I'm looking forward to meeting head-on.

The Brathay Trust does remarkable work in helping those without to feel there is hope and an alternative to their current situation.  Children don't really get to choose the circumstances, be it family, social, or economical that they find themselves in.  Their instinct to trust can sadly lead to misery and abuse, leaving them vulnerable, trapped, scared, or with no hope for a brighter future.  Brathay does help to inspire and give new hope that, yes there are people who care.  How could I not support such a wonderful cause.
