Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Last June I was diagnosed with Cancer in my left eye The prognosis given to myself and family at The Royal Liverpool was either to have the eye removed: or to undergo an operation to mark the size of the tumor ,followed by   proton beam radiotherapy at Clatterbridge Cancer Unit.At 71 you would think that I might think I would be able to deal with this in an mature manner!1 no way....I was terrified !. With the help of my family I opted for the treatment. So in early October I visited Clatterbridge for the first time. I cannot speak too highly of the skill and dedication of all the staff, but more important to me was the way they treated and looked after my wife at tis worrying time

As Clatterbridge is the ONLY hospital in the Uk to offer this treatment, my family and I would like to say an enormous "Thank You " to all those involved in The Proton Beam Unit by entering The Manchester half Marathon to raise funds to help this unit continue to help other patients
