Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In February 2022 I will be taking on the biggest challenge I have ever faced. I will be trekking up Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for this truly unique and amazing place!!

After my Nephew, Alexander, passed away at Bluebell Wood in 2013 it was apparent to me how essential this place is. The support it gives the families and the happiness it brings to the children with short lives is priceless, yet they remain running largely from donations.

I will be trekking over 8 days, the terrain is demanding and the temperatures will range between 20 and minus 20 degrees. Mount Kili is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest natural mountain in the world standing at 5895 metres above sea level!!

For those of you who know me, you know I don't like heights, the cold or getting up early and that I would rather be drinking Gin. Yet here I am walking for at least 10 hours every week in the dark, rain and wind to train.

At the beginning of October I also gave up smoking and drinking in an attempt to improve my fitness to help me achieve this challenge.(that's got to be worth a tenner on its own!!??)

So please, please sponsor me, any amount is appreciated and will make a difference to these children by keeping this inspirational place going. It is a lifeline for many.

Thank you so much xxx
