Maggie’s Centres are warm and welcoming places built alongside NHS hospitals that provide the support that people with cancer and their family and friends need. www.maggiescentres.org

Story

The Gillian Parsons Memorial Golf Day was established in memory of Shona’s sister, with the first golf day taking place in 2006. Over the past 16 years the event has raised the magnificent sum of £129K for Maggie's Fife.

Gillian had used Maggie's in Edinburgh after her diagnosis and found great comfort from the wonderful staff and users. Gillian was an active friend of Maggie's Fife, helping fundraise during the initial building stage. Unfortunately Gillian didn't get to see the Fife centre open but would be extremely proud of her legacy, ensuring the people of Fife have their own Maggie's Centre.

This years golf day will be the 17th edition of what has become an incredibly popular event and will take place on Sunday 27th August 2023 at Dunnikier Park Golf Club.

Maggie's has over 25 years of experience providing free cancer support and information in centres across the UK. Built in the grounds of NHS cancer hospitals, the centres are warm and welcoming and are run by expert staff who help people live well with cancer.

The vital funds raised at The Gillian Parsons Memorial Golf Day will help Maggie's Fife provide free practical and emotional support to anyone who visits, including benefits advice, sessions with a Maggie's psychologist, stress management workshops, and groups for friends and families - plus much more.
