We provide specialist care and support to life-threatened children & their family

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In 2018 I am choosing to support EACH - East Anglia's Children's Hospice. EACH supports families and cares for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk. Visit their website at www.each.org.uk  for more information about the great work that they do.

Making memories is a part of our everyday lives, we think nothing of it. For example, take a simple day at the beach - we enjoy the salt sea air on our children's faces, we listen to the crackle of crushed shells as we walk and run with them hand in hand. We engage in conversation and laugh with our children, we fill our lives with memories of them, from the first cry, the first smile, the first words, the first steps. We mark the first cry of joy as they devour their first ice cream, we delight in the laughter as they splash in the rock pools, as they build sand palaces and crunch their sandy sandwiches without a care in the world. We have all the time in the world to watch them develop and grow from little babies to grown up independent adults.

However, that's not always the case........

Making memories is vital. When time is short, EACH help families make the most of the precious time together and create memories that last forever.

I am going to paint at least one painting everyday during 2018. Your donation can help to make this happen.

Make a start...

  • Choose a date you want to commemorate (just one, or as many as you wish)
  • Think of an image that captures the memory (e.g. - a beach in Cornwall, a red balloon, a dog's bowl, a memorable wine etc.,)
  • Dedicate it to a special person or to a memory. Maybe you've shared an adventure, or you've experienced a heartbreaking day of loss and sadness, or you may want to mark a day of great joy!
  • Choose a day in the future or in the past...it's your chosen day.
  • PLEASE DONATE...
  • Send me the information by e mail/FB message/text...include the detail needed for me to do your painting
  • Most important - DONATE  (suggested minimum £20). Your donation help will provide an Essential care kit for the Hospice nurses to use when providing care in the family home. See the EACH website www.each.org.uk for further information.

I will reserve the date(s) you choose, and then draw and paint in watercolours your chosen image to capture the memory. Your name and a short description of why you have chosen this day and image will be added to the painting to make it truly personal.

At the end of the year, we will have a book full of thought provoking images - precious memories, treasures, thoughts, happiness and sadness - a book full of love.

For the charity to receive gift aid, the pictures will not be sold to you. The original painting will be sent to you if desired at the start of 2019. Details for this process will be advised at the end of 2018.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
