Over 150,000 of us in the UK have MS. It’s unpredictable and different for everyone. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We’re the MS Society. We understand what life’s like with MS. We're here for you through the highs, lows and everything in between. Together, we are strong enough to stop MS.

Story

In memory of George (Giorkis) Liasis Kefala who passed away on the 15th November 2020, aged 91.

George was born in Agios Elias, Cyprus in 1929, and came to England in 1946, where he lived in Folkestone, Northampton (where he owned a Fish & Chip shop) and London.

George was a loving husband to Fanou Kefala (Milis family from Achna) with who he shared 62 happy years, and he also leaves behind his son Andrew and grandchildren George and Despina.

He was a truly kind man who will be remembered for his generosity, warmth,
charm and great sense of humour. George's passing comes with great sadness, and he will be deeply missed.

In George's honour, the family are raising money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society to support thier research, as MS is an illness which has greatly affcted both of George and Fanou's children, Elia and Andrew.

The funeral will take place on 2nd December at 11am at St Mary's Greek Orthodox Church, N22 8LB. Followed by the burial service at Islington and St Pancras Cemetery, where we will be adhering to COVID-19 regulations.
