Story
Hello!
We are ‘Team Lejog’ - raising money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association during 2021.
In 2012, Rhian’s sister, Eryl, died after having MND for 2 years. She was 56 years old.
In 2015, Ollie’s good friend, Andy, died of the same awful disease. He was 31.
As a family, we have all experienced the terrible effect MND has on those given a terminal diagnosis, and also the hideous impact it has on family and friends. We are desperate to raise as much money as we can to help the mnda find a cure.
During 2021, we have set ourselves a massive challenge: we are virtually walking, running and cycling the distance between John o’ Groats and Land’s End (874 miles). Hana will be running every mile, Rhian and Lorrie are walking their way down the country and Ollie is cycling (but doing triple the miles!)
We are completing our miles every day but also undertaking some big challenges too. On the weekend of June 27th (the date Eryl died) we are walking 60 miles along the whole length of the Ceredigion coast path. We’ve chosen this route as Eryl was born, and grew up in, Aberystwyth.
On the 6th August (Andy’s birthday) we are trekking across the Malvern hills, which is near the area Andy was from.
Hana has also signed up to complete a few running events (her first 10k run is in May) and Ollie is virtually cycling across cities and deserts!
The 4 of us are being supported by our wider family and friends, who are joining us on several legs of our challenge. In particular, Hana’s friends, Katie and Hannah, are also running 874 miles.
Please follow and support our challenge this year. We will all be very grateful for any donation you are able to give.
Thank you!
Team Lejog 2021 (Hana, Rhian, Lorrie and Ollie)
