Story
In September 2019 our partner, son, brother, uncle and brilliant all round pal Tim hurt his knee, and none of us imagined how serious things would turn. Tim contracted Sepsis a few weeks into his hospital stay and needed emergency surgery and critical care to save his life.
After six further operations and two more booked for this year, Tim continues to be a real life hero and face all the challenges and hurdles thrown at him with an unwavering determination to get his life back on track.
The key to successfully beating Sepsis is time; aggressive and intensive treatment is needed as soon as possible for patients to have the best chance, so Team Buller will be cycling 1000 miles over the course of September to recognise World Sepsis Day (13th September) and to fundraise for the UK Sepsis Trust who do incredible work to raise awareness of this silent killer, conduct critical research, and provide outstanding support for survivors and their loved ones.
Every year in the UK, Sepsis kills at least 48,000 people - with better awareness this number can be dramatically reduced.
Thank you so much for your support, it means so much to us as a team and to the UK Sepsis Trust. Together we are making the difference in the fight against Sepsis.
