Muscular Dystrophy UK is the charity bringing individuals, families and professionals together to beat muscle-wasting conditions.

Story

Harry is a little boy at our son's school. He suffers from Duchene muscular dystrophy, a very cruel type of muscle wasting condition. Muscular dystrophy affect all muscles in the body and there is no cure.

Harry has to work very hard to keep his muscles working. This means a lot of physiotherapy as well as medications which slow the progress of the disease but they come with side effects.

Your money will help fund research in therapies to slow the progress of the disease possibly even cure it! There are some really exciting advances, your money might mean researchers get the vital funds to make these new treatment available to Harry and other sufferers. There is no time to waste!

Now about our challenges!

Oliver will be the first one on the line with his very first cycling event. He is a great swimmer and runner but cycling is quite new to him. He will be tackling RIDE LONDON the 100 miles Olympic course through the surrey hills no less!!

We will then run together the FARNHAM PILGRIM HALF MARATHON in September which takes place on our anniversary of meeting. This local race is very hilly and challenging and we will be dressed as bride and groom with a touch of MDUK Orange of course!!

Finally and possibly what will be the most interesting, I have agreed to let Harry dress me to run the Great South Run in October and yes... it's televised! I am sure Harry will love your suggestions!

So please dig deep and give lots for Harry!!

Muscular Dystrophy UK is the charity for 70,000 people living with muscle-wasting conditions. They are making a difference today, providing vital information and support to help people live as independently as possible. They are making a difference for tomorrow, accelerating progress in research and driving the campaign for access to emerging treatments.
