Story
It's apt that this page is all about 'giving'.
Bal gave more than most for grass-roots cricket.
It was in Coventry where the impact of Bal's time, effort and commitment was most evident, through his work with Coventry District Cricket Board, and Highway Cricket Club.
Although a treasured member at Highway, Bal was always welcomed to every club in the city - a large majority of the youngsters playing for the clubs in Coventry had been influenced or guided by Bal at some point.
Highway and Standard are the closest clubs geographically, and ironically the two that Bal could be considered closest to. The respective clubs have therefore decided that their local rivalry should be ignited, but this time it should be on the football pitch!
It would be great if you could give us your support on the following:
- Giving so that we can support a true cricketing cause - The Lords Taverners. For those that are not familiar with the incredible work they do, check out their website.
- Attending the match - Friday 3 November @ 7:30pm (Highway CC).
It would be amazing to see the pitch surrounded by people who want to remember Bal, and the legacy that will live on in Coventry and County cricket.
Many thanks, and we look forward to welcoming you to the game.
