Story
This year I have decided to set myself a challenge of swimming 50 miles in 5 weeks. I’ll begin the event June 15th, competing at the Great East swim June 22nd (2 miles) and finish the event July 13th, at the London Dock-Dock swim - 3 miles. I’ll aim to swim 10 miles a week - which will be done at my place of work, Ufford Health or Fram Leisure.
I am doing this event in memory of my incredible, heroic Mum. After 18 months of fighting, she unfortunately passed away to cancer September 10th 2018. She is the strongest and bravest person I have and will ever know and my biggest supporter. She never ever complained, despite everything. Which is why I want to be able to celebrate her amazing self and do her proud.
I want to say a huge thank you, to the Mulbarton Ward at Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital, for looking after her so well. Each nurse, doctor and even cleaner we saw were incredible in their own way and made such an impact to our time there. Which is why I have chosen this charity to support.
This will definitely be a challenge both physically and mentally, especially with 8 years out of the water.. but it’s for such a worthy and meaningful cause. Every single bit helps, to the patients, nurses, families etc, present & future.
Thank you xxxxx
