My cousin Pete Barltrop died last year from a brain tumour, at the age of just 60. When something happens to someone close to you, you tend to learn more about whatever it is. I was shocked to learn that brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer… yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease.
So I thought of doing something I love, cycling to support Brain Tumour Research in memory of Pete as they are the only national charity dedicated to funding long-term, sustainable research in the UK.
I'm riding with my brother Michael so this is a real family event to remember and celebrate Pete's life whilst raising money to help other people affected by this awful disease.
Hoping that you can support me in this, whatever you can give is very much appreciated.
Thank you
Ian
